The word paradise is thrown around a lot in the travel industry – but the Maldives truly are a tropical paradise. The Maldives for those of you unsure are a cluster of tiny islands lost in the intoxicating blues of the Indian Ocean, they come with plenty of sunshine and year round great temperatures that average out at around 30°C throughout the year and the islands are full of palm trees, beautiful blue reefs and white sandy beaches, but perhaps more importantly – the Maldives are positively full of personality and not just the retreat of honeymooning couples. In-fact solo travel to the Maldives is an absolute pleasure.

Turkey’s turquoise coast is filled with pebble beaches and adorned with spectacular ruins and lined with vibrant promenades that are home to chic restaurants and cafes. We’ve done a little research and asked some of our solo traveller friends for their most important tips for single female travellers.
Bruges is perfect – laced with antique cobbled streets that are adorned with charming architecture, age-old bridges over pretty flower framed canals and bustling squares with grand civic buildings and busy cafes. The spring daffodils that bloom en-masse on the Begijnhof give the city a certain charm unique to the season, while the snow-topped roofs and christmas markets are what make Bruges one of the most memorable winter destination in Europe. We visited Sicily earlier this year and found a beautiful island in the Mediterranean with delicious cuisine, sleepy Italian charm and beautiful scenery. The island is home to a plethora of beautiful cities, many featuring Baroque architecture that sits neatly besides Greek and Roman influences and all worthy of exploration. Our favourites were Siracusa, Catania and Ragusa, which are all within a short distance of each other – making it easy to get around. Sicily is easy to travel independently too – whether you just want a few days away by yourself or a week or two on a group discovery tour – the island is always inviting. Continue reading
Ibiza is perhaps Spain’s most popular destination but it isn’t all about beaches and nightclubs. We’ve picked apart our favourite things to do on the island to give you a short guide to the many different faces of Ibiza. Continue reading
